Listed below are some resources that focus on issues of interest and concern for early childhood educators, childcare providers and parents. 
 

 

 

Book Builder: Use this site to create, write, publish and read books to share with your children.

Childcare Choices of Boston: A great source of information and support for day care in Boston, Brookline, Chelsea, Revere and Winthrop.

CSEFEL: The Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning is focused on promoting the development and school readiness of young children birth to age 5. Resources are available trhough the site for family and early educators. The Book Nook section categorizes children's books based on age and social emotional skill.         

Early Learning Services: The Mass Department of Education provides information and resources of interest to child care providers.

Family Ties: Family Ties of Massachusetts provides information and referral services, emotional support, and training to parents of children and youth with special needs.

Get Ready to Read: GRTR provides literacy strategies for parents, educators, and child care providers.

Hallmark Health: North Suburban Child and Family resource Network offers support groups for parents, grandparents and children.

MSPCC: Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children offers a comprehensive array of programs and services to support grandparents or relatives raising children, mental health treatment, and parental and family support. Services are provided both in the home and through community-based locations across the state.

 

 

NAEYC: An excellent site dedicated to improving the well being of young children.

One Tough Job: One Tough Job supports parents by providing them with current, reliable and practical information on a variety of parenting topics related to raising children from infancy through adolescence. They aim to provide a general overview of topics, drawing from a variety of reputable and reliable sources.

Parents Helping Parents: Parents Heloping Parents offers support to Massachusetts parents and caregivers through their 24 hour parental hotline 1.800.632.8188 and through parental support groups throughout the state. All services are free and confidential.

Read With Me: These ebooks are a fun way to share stories with your preschool children.

Reading is Fundamental: Educators and parents will find great suggestions, advice, and activities in promoting reading.

Star Fall: Activities support early phonics awareness.

Winthrop Public Library and Museum: Access information on library hours and events, museum passes, and downloading audio books.
